"Mac" Mackworth (1917–2005) was a British psychologist and cognitive scientist known for his pioneering work in the study of boredom, attention, and vigilance;〔(History of Neuroscience and Psychiatry ) at the University of Cambridge, Department of Psychiatry, School of Clinical Medicine; adapted from ''A History of Cambridge Neuroscience'' (Compston & Jones), 2008; retrieved September 8, 2012〕 the Mackworth Clock test has been used since the 1940s in the study of vigilance.
